Ice Skating!

On my way home from the orphanage I went ice skating tonight!  Without skates!

Our town had a sudden wintry mix which consisted mainly of sleet.  I had to hold on to the fence surrounding the orphanage just to get to the gate.  Then my trusted driver got out of the car and walked me to it.  I was like a babba.  I'll own it.  Walking on the sidewalks was literally like ice skating without skates.  I slid more than I walked.

We made it in the car about 1/3 to 1/2 of the way to the hotel when the car gently slid into a curb.  My trusted driver was able to gently roll the car into a parking lot, and he and I walked the rest of the way arm-in-arm.  I cannot count the times that I slid and he caught me.  Not exaggerating, at least 20 times.

And you know what was sickening about it???  If you've been to this town before you've seen them: ladies wearing stiletto boots walking around everywhere.  Those ladies in their stilettos were sliding on this stuff like they do it everyday, no worries.  Even children and babbas were managing it.

Anyway, the good news is that it was a crazy fun adventure and I made it home safely to blog about it. The bad news is that I won't be able to visit Eva tomorrow due to the roads.

We had a good time tonight though.  This time when I was telling her baca baca (bye bye) she was sad.  I don't want to make her sad, but I was relieved to see that she isn't happy about our visiting time coming to an end.  We had fun tonight.  Here's some of what we did:
